Boy OR Girl Shih Tzu?

 

Either make great pets, but some people tend to not consider a boy for various reasons. Please know that Shih Tzu boys are especially loving and affectionate. A Shih Tzu girl will love you - a boy will be in love with you! Shih Tzu boys generally always naturally squat as oppose to hiking the leg (which is almost always learned behavior from another dog  and can also be broken with a little training). Any unlikely "humping" tendency is resolved with neutering. And so while girls are wonderful, there's just  no good reason to not also consider the love a boy Shih Tzu has to offer! As someone that has been around a lot of both, my personal preference is a boy, however I would be very satisfied with either. So while I can understand a personal preference one may have - I just like to say that a healthy Shih Tzu puppy (be it male or female) with a correct temperament, that is the result of responsible, dedicated breeding is far more important than secondary, trivial things such as gender or color/markings. And, I suggest one keeps that in mind when making an objective decision in acquiring a Shih Tzu puppy. The bottom line is that sex, color, or markings should not weigh heavily in regards to decision making.
